Obedience Training Classes

Our obedience classes range from basic through advanced. We base our training techniques on the Volhard method. Ebb Tide instructors have years of experience with all types of dogs. Whether you simply want a well mannered pet or are preparing for the show ring, we have a class to fit your needs.

Classes are limited in size so that you can receive the attention you need from the instuctor and assistants to succeed.

We have a 48 x 75 foot building dedicated to training. Obedience classes are held two nights a week all year and Saturdays.

Rally Obedience

The dogs really love it as it is fast moving and less formal than traditional obedience.

We offer rally classes from the beginning level thru competition.Contact us for a schedule of upcoming rally classes.

Private Instructions
Do you prefer working one on one? We offer private instructions for anyone interested in an obedience or agility program tailored just for them.

Resident Program
No time for class? Do you have a problem dog? We offer a 14-day resident training for your dog. We work with your dog every day on the basics of heeling, sit, down, and stay as well as behavior problems such as jumping up, dashing through doors, and coming when called. At then end of the program we include a private lesson for you and your dog. This lesson will teach you how to keep the skills your dog has learned sharp and fresh.

Training Classes Available:

Level One: 8 weeks — Next Class begins August 17th at 8:30 PM

This class introduces you and your dog to the basics of obedience training.
Your dog will learn to:

• Walk on a loose lead
• Sit, stand, lay down and stay on command.
• To come when called.

Level Two: 8 weeks —Next Class To Be Announced, dogs must have completed Level One

Builds on Level One skills and includes the AKC Good Canine Citizen test.

Level Three: 8 weeks

For Graduates of Level Two and competition track students.
Includes all of the exercises necessary to compete in Novice, Open and Utility at obedience trials.

Rally Obedience Classes — Date to be announced

At Ebb Tide Kennels we do more than just teach you how to train your dog. We truly believe that dog training can and should be fun for the trainer and the dog. Our training methods work in concert with your dog's instincts to provide a rapid and fun learning experience. They are based upon years of study, training and instructing.

We are routinely in contact with the best known dog trainers in the country, allowing us to keep up to date with the latest concepts in dog behaviour and training. Our methods must be judged by their effectiveness in reducing problem behavior and in creating a better relationship between dog and owner. Clients consistently give us high marks in these areas.
