Years ago we became acquainted with Jack and Wendy Volhard's exceptional Rivendell Landseer Newfoundlands. They had imported their foundation dogs from Germany where Landseers have been perfected with the goal of producing dogs identical to those in Sir Edwin Landseer's paintings. This pair - Basso vom Botwartal CDX and Henna von Schartenberg UD began what has to be one of the most agility and obedience titled lines of Newfoundlands in the country.

Obedience trainee Over the years we learned much about the breeding and training of these special dogs, eventually being entrusted with the preservation of the line. To date we have produced a total of eight litters. All of the dogs produced to date have shown excellent work ethic, and it is our intention to continue in this tradition.

Accomplishments of dogs bred from our lines include the 1st Newfoundland Club of America Top Obedience Newfoundland of the Year Award and the first and still only Newfoundland to earn the coveted AX and AXJ agility titles, as well as multiple other performance titles. Dogs we have bred have also been trained for ski patrol, therapy work, handicapped assistance work, and have appeared in commercials, advertisements, and major motion pictures.
Portrait All of these dogs also serve as cherished family pets. Producing healthy dogs that can perform well in these diverse roles is our number one goal.

We breed a litter every 2 to 3 years from stock that has proven to be cystinuria clear, have OFA hips, and has been cleared by a board certified canine cardiologist. For more information please call or email us.
